Wondering why the latest Angus Reid polling shows SK residents are more satisfied with their health care system than the rest of the country? Columnist Murray Mandruk suggests it may be that people appreciate this government’s willingness to try new ways to fix problems such as surgery wait lists, provider recruitment, saving money, and dealing with labour woes.

Our "sister" agency to the West, the Health Quality Council of Alberta, released the results of its annual satisfaction survey. They found 62% of Albertans who received health care services in the province in the past year rated their satisfaction as 4 or 5 out of 5 on a 5-point scale. This is relatively unchanged from 60% in 2008 and significantly higher than 58% in 2006 and 52% in 2004.

Safe Care...Accepting No Less, is the title of CPSI's new strategic plan.
It outlines the Institute's new vision: ‘Safe healthcare for all Canadians,’ and mission: ‘To inspire extraordinary improvement in patient safety and quality.’ The plan also identifies Safer Healthcare Now! as CPSI’s flagship program.
